The
Family Planning Male Training Center (FPMTC)
Funding for The Family Planning Male Training
Center (FPMTC) is provided through a five-year contract (2004-2009)
from the Office
of Family Planning (OFP), U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services to the University
of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). The PI is H.
William Gruchow, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Public
Health Education, a national academic leader in the study
of male health/involvement and in the training of Health Educators.
The FPMTC works collaboratively with the ten OFP
Regional Training Centers and other community-based and
academic organizations to provide training and leadership
in promoting male family planning and reproductive health
issues.
There are currently about 4,500 clinics in the
United States that receive OFP funding to provide family planning
services to both female and male clients.
