  Hutson W. Inniss
 

 

 

Mr. Inniss is the Vice President – Community and Organizational Development for Tapestry Health, Inc.  He oversees the agency’s HIV services department that provides supportive services for people living with HIV, prevention education and anonymous HIV counseling and testing services, as well as provides administrative direction for the agency’s training, quality assurance and community relations initiatives. 

Mr. Inniss began his career as an instructor-trainer for the American Red Cross.  In 1988, he was chosen to participate in one of the national trainings for the ARC first culturally-specific HIV prevention education programs for African Americans.  After a brief detour (when his passion for music compel him to study voice and choral conducting), he became a consultant with GLSEN Boston and the Massachusetts Department of Education – Safe Schools for Gay and Lesbian Youth Program and other human services agencies in Massachusetts. 

Mr. Inniss serves on numerous boards, advisory and steering committees including Men’s Resources International Inc, an organization devoted to practicing and promoting healthy, compassionate and responsible models of masculinity, recently elected to the position of Vice Chairperson.  He is a member of the Massachusetts Commission on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth, serving on its executive committee and chairperson of its committee on human services.  He is the Board Secretary for National Coalition for LGBT Health, Inc based in Washington, DC. He attended Westfield (Massachusetts) State College in its Bachelor’s of Arts in Social Science program.
