The 2008 Annual Title X Male Reproductive Health Conference was completed May 5-7, 2008 at The Westgate Hotel in the gorgeous west coast city of San Diego, California. This conference welcomed an audience of all levels of clinical and non clinical staff who focus on providing sexual and reproductive health services to men. Over 130 attendees from agencies across the country participated in the two and a half day 2008 conference. Whether you missed attending or can attest to the success of the 2008 conference, we hope you will plan to join us for the 2009 conference. Stay tuned for the date and location to soon be announced!
The Male Health Training For Aministrators and Managers (formerly the FPMTC Male Health Institute) will be held October 13-16, 2008 at the Maison Dupuy Hotel in New Orleans, LA. This training will accpet 20 nominated managers, administrators and upper level staff who work with programs providing sexual and reproductive health services to men or those who's agencies wish to begin providing these services to men. Each year the FPMTC accepts up to 20 participants to attend this intense 4-day training institute to examine and work on topics such as program development, program implementation, program sustainability and program evaluation.
Process for attending the trianing: Nomination forms will be sent to all RPCs beginning in June 2008. If you are a manager or work at the administrative level of a Title X Male Family Planning Program, please contact your RPC to express interest. Be sure to complete the nomination form (when released) and send back to your respective RPC. The FPMTC takes "ranked" nomination forms from each of the 10 RPCs for acceptance to this training. All participants must be nominated via your RPC.
We are rapidly building our Trainer Registry. This will be a database of trainers and speakers from across the country who work with or are interested in working with Title X family planning agencies. We are asking for everyone to encourage trainers and speakers they have worked with to submit their information to our office for the registry. The database will include names and contact information for trainers/speakers, areas of expertise, trainings delivered, agencies they have worked with and a list of references for each person. Additionally, this website is a resource and communication center to support Title X Family Planning providers in their delivery of services to male clients. We have planned it to keep you up-to-date on the FPMTC's training events and provider resources, and to provide you with access to current and relevant information on specific male family planning and reproductive health issues. We hope that you find it a useful addition to your tool box, and we are always interested in your comments and suggestions.
